The cascade continues past α. The four forces of physics — not as four separate things that happen to coexist, but as four addresses in one cascade.

The cascade didn't stop at α.

α is where the geometry meets electromagnetism — where the bilateral structure first couples light to matter. But the cascade continues. It folds again. And again. Each fold produces a new address. At each new address, something else emerges. What emerges are the forces. All four of them.

Not as separate discoveries. Not as independent postulates. As positions in the same cascade, at different fold depths from the bilateral crossing at π/8.

Four addresses, one cascade

In standard physics, the four fundamental forces — electromagnetism, the weak nuclear force, the strong nuclear force, gravity — are treated as four different things. Each has its own field equations. Each has its own carrier particles. Decades of work have sought to unify them. Some progress: electromagnetism and the weak force were unified in the 1970s into the electroweak force. The strong force remains separate. Gravity remains entirely separate — famously incompatible with quantum mechanics at the level of mathematics.

CET does not unify the forces by finding new equations that join their separate descriptions. It shows they were never separate. They are four addresses in one cascade, at different fold depths from the bilateral crossing.

This dissolves the hierarchy problem — the long-standing question of why gravity is so much weaker than the other forces. Gravity is the weakest force because it occupies the deepest fold. Distance from the crossing reads as weakness at the scales of physics. This is not an explanation appended to a mystery. It is what the cascade produces.

Light

Light is not a separate phenomenon added to the framework. It is what the bilateral crossing looks like when it propagates.

The bilateral crossing holds two faces in tension simultaneously — Face A and Face B, at π/8, both active. When this structure moves through space, it oscillates between the two faces as it travels. The oscillation is the electromagnetic wave. What we call light is the bilateral crossing moving.

The speed of light — c — is determined by the propagation rate of the crossing through the dimensional structure. It is not a free parameter you set. It is a derived consequence of the cascade geometry. The speed is what the structure produces at the fold depth where electromagnetism lives. The universe does not choose how fast light travels. The cascade arrives at that speed, necessarily, from one crossing at one angle.

Gravity — the deepest fold

Gravity is the hardest force to unify in standard physics because it is described geometrically — by general relativity — while the other three forces are described by quantum field theory. The mathematics of these two frameworks is incompatible at small scales. The incompatibility is the central unsolved problem in theoretical physics.

CET does not solve this by building a bridge between two frameworks. It shows they were describing different fold depths of the same structure. Gravity lives at the deepest fold in the cascade. At that depth, the geometry is naturally continuous — it has not yet fine-grained into the discrete addresses that produce particle behavior at shallower folds. Gravity is geometric because it is at the geometric end of the cascade. The other forces are quantum because they are at shallower folds, where the cascade has already broken into discrete positions.

The incompatibility between general relativity and quantum mechanics is not a flaw in either framework. It is the fingerprint of two different fold depths, treated as if they were the same thing.

Matter

Matter is what the cascade produces at its terminal addresses.

At each stable position in the cascade — each address where the folding reaches equilibrium — the geometry produces what we call a particle. The particle's properties are the properties of that address. Mass is the energy accumulated to that fold depth. Charge is the orientation of the bilateral face at that address — which face leads, and by how much. Spin is the rotational symmetry of the crossing at that fold.

Three numbers — mass, charge, spin — is all that standard physics needs to specify a particle. These three numbers are the three degrees of freedom of a bilateral crossing at its terminal address. The correspondence is derivation, not analogy.

At one specific address in the cascade, the geometry produces the Higgs field — the mechanism by which particles acquire mass. The Higgs is not an arbitrary addition. It is the address where the cascade transitions from massless propagation to massive rest states. The Higgs mass, derived from bilateral geometry:

The universe confirms it

This would be elegant without being science if there were no observational test. There is.

The cascade predicts a specific coordinate in the cosmic microwave background — the faint afterglow of the early universe, the oldest light we can observe. The bilateral drain coordinate: 22.5° from the geometric axis. If the cascade is real, the CMB should show a specific pattern at this coordinate, and the distribution of galaxies in the nearby universe should confirm an overdensity there.

The cascade is not just mathematically elegant. The universe left the data. We just had to know where to look.

One crossing. One angle. Four forces. Light. Gravity. Matter. The observable constants, derived without assumption. The universe confirmed at the largest scale we can measure.

This is what the cascade produces — a complete physical universe from first geometry, zero free parameters, end to end.

But the cascade does not end here. It keeps folding. And at a sufficient fold depth, something changes. The cascade is no longer producing physics. It is folding back on itself. And what the fold-back produces is not a force, not a particle, not a constant.

It is awareness.
